The home of honest food

About Us

The Scarecrow in Kilsyth was originally four separate entities that was taken over by a family business in 1981 who began to construct what is now The Scarecrow Bar & Grill. There has recently been another fresh renovation completed which gives little nods to the history of Kilsyth main street in the new design, one of these being our
vintage bike on the wall of our grill as the restaurant was previously a bike shop in another life. Over the years The Scarecrow has been a popular local hub for the community and still is to this day. We want to provide a welcoming, safe environment for our customers to bring their families and pride ourselves on a customer base of different generations from the same family.

Dine in or Take Out

We always love to see you in person, but understand that just sometimes there's nothing like sitting in the comfort of your own home to enjoy good food. Thats why we provide a takeaway service so that you can still experience the quality of our menu.

Keeping the Taste Local

At The Scarecrow we think it is important to use local suppliers in Kilsyth, working alongside Cross Butchers who provide all of our meat, including the succulent beef that is used in our Steak Pie, and The Aberdeen Fish Shop who provide the delicious haddock for our Fish & Chips. We highly recommend both if you are in the area.

Social

We'd love to hear your thoughts on your experience with us. Feel free to tag yourself at our restaurant on social media along with a picture of your favourite dish.

Last year we were delighted to represent the town of Kilsyth at The Food Awards Scotland 2019 and go on to win Best Gastro Pub in Scotland. We have also reached the finals at The Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards. We have been blown away by the amazing feedback we receive on Trip Advisor and on Facebook and we want to thank all our customers for taking the time to leave such lovely reviews.
