About Us
The Scarecrow in Kilsyth was originally four separate entities that was taken over by a family business in 1981 who began to construct what is now The Scarecrow Bar & Grill. There has recently been another fresh renovation completed which gives little nods to the history of Kilsyth main street in the new design, one of these being our
vintage bike on the wall of our grill as the restaurant was previously a bike shop in another life. Over the years The Scarecrow has been a popular local hub for the community and still is to this day. We want to provide a welcoming, safe environment for our customers to bring their families and pride ourselves on a customer base of different generations from the same family.
Keeping the Taste Local
At The Scarecrow we think it is important to use local suppliers in Kilsyth, working alongside Cross Butchers who provide all of our meat, including the succulent beef that is used in our Steak Pie, and The Aberdeen Fish Shop who provide the delicious haddock for our Fish & Chips. We highly recommend both if you are in the area.

Social
We'd love to hear your thoughts on your experience with us. Feel free to tag yourself at our restaurant on social media along with a picture of your favourite dish.
We were very proud to represent the town of Kilsyth at The Food Awards Scotland and to go on and win Best Gastro Pub in 2019 and 2021 as well as receiving Highly Recommended for Best Gastro Pub in Scotland at the Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards 2022.
We have also been blown away by the feedback we have received on Trip Advisor, which has resulted in us winning The Traveller’s Choice Award for two years running now.
We can’t thank our customers enough for all their support.
